President JFK refused to listen to his advisors who were advocating for the US Air Force to bomb the Soviet missile sites in Cuba. He understood that the US would have to make concessions to pull the world back from the brink, as US nuclear missiles were stationed in Italy and Turkey aimed directly at the USSR. We continue working to secure air defense for Ukraine – the missiles needed to protect lives and agreements for production in Ukraine. All of this will happen. It is not easy, but all of this will happen. Throughout the war, we have already spoken many times about weapons, capabilities, and equipment that we were initially told were supposedly impossible for us to obtain. Then we heard that Ukrainians supposedly would not be able to do it because it would take decades to become capable of it. F-16s, the production of millions of drones a year, specialized missile technologies – we did it. The same will be true of anti-ballistic capabilities. The same will be true of Patriots in Ukraine. But every delay that, unfortunately, is happening at the political level simply costs lives. It is important to act quickly, to focus all our efforts on protecting lives and limiting Russia’s resources for war. The aggressor must feel that the world is there – truly there – and is acting to end the war, rather than simply watching the war continue. Thank you to everyone who is truly helping us, helping Ukraine!

Me and my mates caused this: We turned up at their wedding uninvited and started fighting with the guests and they had the cheek to tell us to leave because we were ruining their wedding when it was only a few of us and not everyone. Then they tried to lock the doors. But we held them open while more came in. We didn’t like the music either so we made the DJ to swerve the Motown and play some techno to suit us. It was an all inclusive bar and a free buffet so we stayed to the end even though we didn’t like it there. I just wanted to call the family out and tell you all how intolerant they were to us. I’ve never been made to feel so unwelcome. We had just as much of a right to be there as anyone else. It was a public building. They don’t own it. I’m sure you will all agree that the family were bang out of order. We only ruined their wedding the crying cnts. Horrible people.

And up to December 1991, it was American policy to try to preserve Soviet Union. So it's really striking that all that's solid really can melt into air. The things that seem like absolute bedrocks, or even axioms of political thought, can cease to exist. Breakup of Soviet Union also means that 1990s in Russia happened faster there than here. Time goes faster there than in US. That means that things that are going to happen in US start to happen faster there, such as political postmodernism or return of a certain kind of fascism or oligarchy. So the end of Soviet Union shows that things can come to an end, but it also shows some of the possibilities of 21st-century politics which we then wade into ourselves later on.
