Spaghetti models have this storm traveling slowly west and primarily parallel with the Gulf Coast states, making landfall around New Orleans. Hurricane potential is there. But regardless, this is looking to turn into a historic, catastrophic flooding event from Tampa Bay all the way to Houston.

This will also prevent significant strengthening, but a slight increase in max winds could make TD3 a tropical storm (name would be "Chantal") before landfall. 🌀 Primary hazards will be strong winds and rip currents along the entire coastal Carolinas, along with potentially heavy rainfall, confined mostly northeast of the landfall point. Pay attention to information from NWS Charleston, SC, NWS Wilmington, NC, and other local NWS offices for the expected hazards in your particular area.
