Call me crazy but I would much rather be stuck on a water ride where I could just jump off and swim to safety than a rollercoaster being stuck upside down or something.

Can someone explain what happened with the ride? I may be dumb but I need more context

For those who don't see it, the yellow boat took on water after the red boat got there. Too many boats across the entire channel. The big water jet was blocked from flowing and the water level started rising rapidly. At 18s the yellow boat capsized. You see it drop on the right. The jet was turned off to allow the whirlpool to clear the area but by that time the yellow boat was already under water. The people jumping off didn't do it. The large amount of water coming from a huge high-powered jet and boat traffic was the cause of this.

Having ridden that same ride plenty as a kid and knowing how filthy that water is, it’s wild they’d consider jumping in, even beyond the stupid risk of safety they subjected themselves to.

I used to work there back in high school I’m glad they got the kid 🙏🏾that water would’ve pulled him under 😮‍💨
