Gentoo builds the airplane from scratch.

Used to be, now Arch can be installed with a simple โarchinstallโ command.

No... Arch is more like this (but with optional parts from different brands):

Is it hard compared to Windows? Yes, absolutely. Is it hard compared to 2016 Arch? No, it's a breeze. Whatโs Actually Hard? The "hardness" of Arch isn't the installation, itโs the maintenance. ๐ฑ

Test install Gentoo

Some people have no interest in becoming a Linux System Administrator, they just want to use their computers. Friendly distros like Zorin are fine for them.

MX ... LOL

I'll take the training wheels, thank you Mark Shuttleworth ๐

not really, its a set of ~15 commands although its does look like that to mint users

not any more... they are all pretty easy. The biggest problem I have today the the absolute trash UEFI bios on many systems.

Arch isn't THAT hard.

no. Only 5 to 6 minutes to deeply remove Windows and auto-install ubuntu or Linux-mint

Is it weird that I know how to start an A320 but I don't know how to install Arch (without archinstall)?

I mean Manjaro is easy to install and that's Arch.

Okay now I need something in the middle. With Arch you have to know the commands beforehand or follow along at snails pace. What's an intermediate distro that has deep enough customizability similar to the difficulty level of changing all the registry and policies in Windows?

Arch install script.

My family has been using Arch since 2010, with no headaches. The truth in the meme is; Arch isn't designed bฬถyฬถ for 4-year-olds like Windows is.

I run Linux Mint. I want to search I launch brave. It works. I want to update I use apt. It works. I want to dev. I launch Codium. It works. I need smth not in repos. I compile myself. I want to do something crazy. I install another Linux in a VM. I don't waste time with my OS.

Upgrading Pop_Os from 22.04 LTS to 24.04 LTS. Network gone. DaVinci stopped working. 30 yrs of the same shit.

One question... what does Arch Linux have that other distributions don't?

Maybe 10 years ago. Nowadays there are a bunch of installers

While I'm on Arch, cachyOS, Rocky and a few others. Why people are pushing cachyOS to the windows fresh switch people, I have no idea. Honestly, truth be told, newbies need to start on Debian flavors. Less likely to break. Imo

Arch has gotten easier but I still say stay way from it if your a newcomer or care about software that may not be in the main repo or available as an appimage or flatpak. The perk of using Linux Mint is it benefits from the software Ubuntu has and .deb installers

Yea, us regular windows users just want shit to work. I switched from windows to @bazzite_gg last year and it just works. That said though installing it blew some brain cells, I was expecting a regular ext3 style system but btrfs is a different beast.

it has gotten way easier. ubuntu, debian, mint, manjaro, opensuse. they all have graphical installers today. no need for "sudo apt-get install xy" oder "zypper in xy" anymore.

Installing Arch (manjaro):

Accurate. Installing Mint is easier than installing Windows nowadays. While Arch needs to do every setting properly or it explodes.

Then Gentoo and Linux From Scratch would be like building your own rocket to fly to the moon

Installing arch is easy bro even without Archinstall just read

Makes perfect sense, airplanes are very rare to crash unless several bad things happen at once and yet most of issues can be recovered.

nobady cares that you use arch btw. overrated. use cachyos.

True Arch is boring about that, you loose so much time.

Too much knobs and buttons on the Arch side. Arch would be PCBs, resistors, capacitors and solder iron. ๐

The guy on the bottom part forgot to turn one knob and will need to restart the entire process
