It was in basic W3 too You need to sprint jump to land in water. Also, the key this guy have open the dors from this area back to the main camp, so you do not need to jump at all...

this is why i use/used a mod on PC to disable fall damage as well as a separate mod for infinite breath makes exploration so much more enjoyable
