Kid Captain Truman Barnes was diagnosed with a malignant tumor on his brain stem earlier this year. Throughout his treatment Truman cheered on the Cyclones, Cubs, and took care of his little sisters. The tumor was inoperable and sadly Truman passed away in October at age 12. Truman’s family continues to fight this unforgiving disease by donating his tumor for research to accelerate new and improved treatments for pediatric cancers in the hope that no other family face the same loss. Truman was very honored to be selected as today’s Kid Captain! Blank Children's
