Trump: "If Canada was a state, it wouldn't cost us. It would be great. It would be a cherished state ... I don't think the American public wants me to pay $250 billion a year to subsidize Canada ... we do very little business with Canada."

Canada is our largest trade partner.

Trump claiming “we do very little business with Canada” proves yet again he’s completely detached from reality. Canada is literally America’s second-largest trading partner, with trade exceeding $700 billion annually. His idea that annexing Canada would be “cherished” or “cost-free” isn’t just ignorant—it’s laughably absurd.

Yeah, Canada is only our second largest treading partner, just behind Mexico. Very little business. lol.

In 2024, the total trade in goods and services between the U.S. and Canada was approximately $916 billion. U.S. exports to Canada were valued at $440 billion, while imports from Canada were $476 billion, resulting in a U.S. trade deficit of $36 billion. He's talking bollocks.

Ask him how we subsidize them and watch his brain break

How does a reporter sit there and let him say stuff like "we're paying Canada 200 billion a year" and not follow up on that?

25th this traitor already

Ohio here: Canada is our biggest trading partner, and our Republican supermajority wanted Canada on a watch list of countries abusing human rights because they made churches follow COVID protocols like everyone else. Just a metaphor for how fucking stupid these people are.

Hands off Canada.

He’s messing with the wrong person in Canada. 🇨🇦 they aren’t budging. He should cancel his Tuesday trip to send a message.
