🛑The Dangerous Trap Under “Pickaxe Mountain” Joe Kent (Joe Kent) lays out why striking Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain is a dead‑end strategy — and how Israel is using it to trap the U.S. further in an unwinnable war. ⚠️ He explains: “We can hit the surface of it… but what is that going to do for us?” Despite what Secretary of War Pete Hegseth implied at a Senate hearing on Tuesday, the U.S. in fact canNOT penetrate beneath that mountain. Trying will only further waste critical and limited strike assets. Kent warns that enriched uranium buried “beneath miles of granite” means the U.S. would have to “forever chase the uranium around Iran and continue to bomb" --and forever fail. He adds that Israel is driving this narrative: “They can fearmonger… all their talking heads go out there and say Pickaxe Mountain, Pickaxe Mountain" is where the next mythical 'nuclear weapon's program' is being hidden. And he calls the enriched‑uranium demand exactly what it is: “a poison pill to kill any negotiations” — one that risks locking America into an endless Iran war with no achievable objective. This is one of the clearest explanations yet of how U.S. strategy is being shaped — and distorted — by the setting of unattainable goals. 🇺🇸🇮🇷 Joe Kent thinks Trump has one narrow window left to walk away from Iran. And every day that passes, it's closing. Kent says Netanyahu's softened language this week, dropping "regime change" for "just make sure they don't get a nuclear weapon," is rather a moving target than a shift in position. Enriched uranium can always be found at a new site: Natanz yesterday, Pickaxe Mountain today. As long as the file stays open, the U.S. stays committed to chasing it, with no real endpoint in sight. Kent argues Trump is boxed into 2 bad options: another round of strikes that can't finish the job with depleted interceptors, or an economic blockade Iran has already signaled it will treat as an act of war. Either path pulls the U.S. deeper in, not out, and time isn't on Washington's side. Trump himself set a 4-week clock to economic strain before the ceasefire framework collapsed. That clock didn't reset. The real deadlock, per Kent, is the Strait of Hormuz. Iran wants full control of inbound shipping and shared control of outbound. The U.S. has reportedly rejected even a modest optional fee modeled on the Strait of Malacca. Neither side will move first. Iran because it believes it won the war and is owed compensation, the U.S. because conceding the strait is seen as a direct hit to the security guarantee underwriting the petrodollar system itself. Kent's closing argument is blunt: America was still standing after Vietnam, after Afghanistan. It would survive walking away from this too. The harder problem is whether the people currently advising Trump will ever let him hear that. Joe Kent

⭕️ Trump Threatens New Strikes on Iran, Says U.S. Will “Take Out Pickaxe Mountain” President Donald Trump issued a series of new threats against Iran during an interview on The Hugh Hewitt Show, saying the U.S. is preparing further attacks and dismissing the possibility of reviving the collapsed memorandum of understanding. ➤ On Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain nuclear site: Trump said the location is “on the list” and being closely watched. While claiming the U.S. has seen no activity there, he said Washington would “probably give Pickaxe a shot relatively soon” and later declared: “We’re going to take out Pickaxe Mountain.” ➤ Trump said the U.S. would strike Iran “very hard tonight” and again tomorrow, adding that “there’s not a damn thing they can do about it.” ➤ On the failed MOU: Trump described the agreement as a “test” rather than a deal, claiming Iran repeatedly walked away from it after negotiations had been settled. He called Iranian officials “extremely unreliable” and said agreements with them are “made to be broken.” ➤ On Iran’s leadership: Trump said the U.S. had already “knocked out” two Iranian governments and taken out “about 25%” of the current leadership. Asked whether the U.S. knew the locations of remaining senior officials, he said: “Yeah, I do,” but declined to provide details. ➤ On Iran’s nuclear program: Trump claimed Iran would use a nuclear weapon “within one day” if it obtained one and said the U.S. destroys Iranian nuclear capabilities whenever new activity is detected. ➤ On anti-government protests: Trump discouraged Iranians from returning to the streets unless they were armed, arguing that government forces would kill demonstrators. He claimed, without providing evidence, that the Iranian government has killed 52,000 people, a figure about 10 times higher than documented estimates from pro-regime change groups.
