President Zelenskyy: More than ten countries have already turned to us for support in defending against Iranian Shahed drones. "These are, in fact, the same attack drones that the Iranian regime supplied to Russia and trained Russians to use against the civilian population of Ukraine. Right now, in Ukraine, we undoubtedly have the greatest expertise in the world in countering Shaheds due to this war and these massive attacks."

These same drones are used by Iran against countries in the Middle East and beyond. The Iranian regime chose to become Putin’s accomplice, supplying not only drones but also the technology behind them. Iranian and Russian regimes support each other, and there is growing evidence, including Russian parts in Shahed drones, that now hit Iran’s neighbours. The Iranian people deserve a chance to rid themselves of a terrorist regime and ensure safety to all nations hit by terror originating in Iran. The world is stronger than those who seek to destabilise it. We call on our partners to act decisively.

They won't acknowledge that Ukraine is winning a war, that Ukraine has been innovating, or Ukraine as a reality. If you won't acknowledge Ukraine as a reality, then you won't acknowledge that you can't win wars just by firing a lot of missiles. You also realize, looking at Ukraine, that times have changed and that drones and drone defense are the main issue now. Which means that Iranians can threaten and do things with drones for which we, Americans, are not really prepared. Look, Ukrainian coal miners are now in the Middle East trying to make sure that Iranian drones don't hit American forces. American allies' forces in Middle East, because we're not up to date, hadn't been following how wars are actually fought. Ukraine has this expertise, and in exchange for our support we need help in areas where we face greater challenges. This includes protection against ballistic threats and financial resources for defense. Ukraine offers a mutually beneficial partnership: we can strengthen those who can strengthen us. The situation in the world now is such that only coordinated and joint actions can guarantee real results and genuine security. We are being blocked in Europe, and as long as this risk remains, we must seek out additional opportunities to strengthen ourselves. The Middle East and the Gulf are the right direction and serious opportunities to make Ukraine stronger.
