🇨🇦🇪🇺🇺🇦 This is more than a photo-op. Canada is already negotiating to join the EU’s €90 billion loan for Ukraine — the second non-EU country after the UK. Economic partnership Security partnership Real money for Ukraine Trump pushed Canada away Europe is pulling it closer

🇨🇦🇪🇺🇺🇦 Real partners show up with real support. While some talk about “win-win” with the aggressor, others are building the tools that actually stop the missiles. Support the people doing the work 👇 #NAFO #NAFOfellas

I think Canada is starting to like this idea

Canadians rn

Give it another summit and they’ll start complaining about the price of coffee in Paris

😆

Beautiful 🤩

The maple leaf would actually look pretty good next to those 12 stars 🇨🇦🇪🇺

🤞🤞

Good Luck! Lol EU is dead

Funny timing to declare it dead while another G7 country is asking to move closer to it.

Well...lets ser. Give it time

I’m okay with that ✌🏻🇨🇦

And Canada putting real money into the EU’s Ukraine package makes it a lot more than symbolism. 🇨🇦🇪🇺🇺🇦

Absolutely 💯

🇨🇦 🇪🇺

We Europeans do appreciate it when Trump makes stupid decisions that accidentally benefit us 😉

😆 Right?! We Canadians kinda feel the same 😆 Getting closer to Europe is amazing 🇨🇦🫶 🇪🇺

😂 Careful, at this rate we’ll actually end up saving Canada a seat at the EU table ^^ 🇨🇦🇪🇺

😆 🥳

👏👏👏 Now we just need to find out what the Rules of Membership are...

That’s the interesting part. There aren’t any yet — "associate member" would be something new for the EU.

Good luck, ukraine this winter😂😂😂

That €90B Ukraine package you’re commenting under is rather relevant to winter.

A dead country joining a dead union. Amazing

Two "dead" economies doing roughly €130B in trade a year. Death seems surprisingly productive 🙃

That's less than a single American company. Are you retarded?

Reino Unido Canadá 👏

UK first on the Ukraine loan, Canada potentially next. That’s quite a group forming outside the EU.

Trump isn’t getting what he wants, NEVER

Well, pushing Canada toward Europe probably wasn’t the plan.

😂 Canada’s European era already has a soundtrack.

The song for Europe:

America glaring from across the street 😂

Canadians are so gullible, not sure if it is sad or pathetic.

It is about compatibility. Nothing more is required. Finland is not Germany or vice versa. But we have lived close for centuries that we are compatible. We have the same electricity and partly religion and culture. In Germany I feel being home. Canada is very European.

This is actually a smart move by Carney, who of all people given his background, knows how precarious the Canadian economy is and by extension the nation. After over a decade of Liberal policies (Taxation, Regulation, Climate, Mass Migration) Canada, once an economic peer of the US is now poorer than Mississippi. Government spending accounts 44% of its GDP, a number the old USSR would blush at. In contrast, China is 24%, the US 13%. Further private sector decline is inevitable. But that’s not the worst of it. What private sector they do have left is mainly real estate, and it is propped up by very risky loans for foreign buyers, think 2007 loans but for Chinese and other foreigners who are largely uncollectible should that bubble burst. Such an event would be catastrophic and Canada cannot borrow its way out of it nor bail out the private sector. Same thing happened to Greece, but they had European insurance. Canada had the US but pissed it away on ideology and TDS. Now Canada is ALONE. They’ll need a rescue plan if these events unfold, and this EU “membership” is a desperate but critical attempt to do that. Unfortunately the EU is suffering from similar circumstances due to similar policies and will be skeptical of incurring another risk. My take is they’ll use the optics but not insure the corpse.

I think that’s marvellous and I hope one day UK can and will rejoin the European family.

Also Canadians will forfeit visa free travel to the United States in exchange. The USMCA agreement is going to be torn up, so you want to be a “Associate Member”? Welcome to straight across the board 15.2% tariffs! Share the struggle
