I thought MAGA was so upset about Inflation… - Walmart CFO John Rainey has just said that new tariffs could force Walmart to raise prices on consumers. - Lowe’s CEO Marvin Ellison has just said Lowes is concerned about the risk of higher costs and is already having conversations with suppliers about tariffs. Question: What is Trump going to do to reduce prices? Don't say "Drill baby drill". That will have very little impact on US prices in the short term as energy is a global market. Inconvenient Truth: Tariffs, as well as deporting 5% of the work force is not going to reduce inflation, but raise it.

I was glad to welcome President Trump to Canada today for the G7 Leaders’ Summit. We focused on global challenges as well as immediate trade pressures, including priorities for building a new economic and security relationship between Canada and the U.S. To that end, we agreed to pursue negotiations toward a deal within the coming thirty days. I’m looking forward to continuing this work at this summit and in the weeks ahead.

Today Premier Doug Ford Doug Ford said one day Alberta might have to give approval for a federal tax on oil and gas headed from Alberta to the United States. I understand our new Prime Minister Mark Carney has mused about the same thing. Let me be clear… Alberta will never agree to such an absurd and self destructive idea. It’s not an option. I’m not going to agree to do something that will cost hundreds of thousands of Albertans (and Canadians) their jobs almost overnight. That would be like placing export tariffs on Ontario auto parts. Also a bad idea. There are many effective ways that Canada and Alberta can work together to pressure the U.S. President to change course on tariffs - THAT is not one of them… period.

What most struck me at the Metropolitano yesterday is Atleti to me is a rare thing, a big club but it hasn't lost itself to tourism or lost its fanbase. All around me people knew each other something I haven't seen too much in recent years visiting big clubs. I went there expecting it to be a tourist trap but it was anything, I'm not saying it's every big club either but it struck me walking around and getting the metro to the game, the on field has changed at Atleti, the stadium has but the people haven't.
