Trump’s attacks on Iran are both illegal and unconstitutional. Congress alone has the constitutional authority to declare war. We must vote urgently on the War Powers resolution.

Tonight, I spoke on the House Floor to demand an end to Trump’s illegal and unconstitutional war in Iran. This reckless war of choice must end. The House must pass my War Powers Resolution tomorrow.

Trump's illegal military strikes in Venezuela aren't about drugs. They are about regime change. But we must be clear - only Congress has the authority to declare war. Not the president. We must pass our War Powers Resolution and re-establish Congress's power.

Democrats are forcing another vote on our War Powers Resolution to end Trump’s war in Iran. Senate Republicans: Stop indulging Trump’s foreign policy of fantasy. Support our War Powers Resolution. End the war. Bring our troops home.

The House and the Senate will hold separate votes on a War Powers Resolution on Thursday, sponsored by Representatives Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie and Senators Tim Kaine and Rand Paul respectively. The War Powers Resolution seeks to halt President Donald Trump's war of aggression on Iran through the constitutional authority vested in Congress to authorize a war. So we sent our Capitol Hill correspondent Julian Andreone to the Capitol to ask members of Congress how they plan to vote on this resolution and why. Ryan Grim | Julian Andreone

Thousands of Iranian and Lebanese civilians have been killed, millions more displaced. U.S. servicemembers' lives are being put in danger. And Americans are paying the price at the gas pump. Congress must vote on a War Powers Resolution to end Trump’s illegal war now.

Trump has launched an unnecessary, idiotic, and illegal war against Iran that puts America’s servicemembers and embassy personnel at risk. I’m calling on Congress to immediately return to vote on my War Powers Resolution that blocks war with Iran without congressional approval.

Donald Trump chose war with Iran. No strategy. No vote in Congress. No support from the American people. This wasn’t his choice to make. Congress must vote “yes” on Senator Kaine’s War Powers Resolution.
