These are people who committed their crimes in the name and in the interest of Donald Trump, and he's returned the favor by pardoning them. That sends one message to them, a message I'm equally concerned about is the message that it sends to law enforcement. Supporting law enforcement should not be a political issue. It should not be a Republican, Democrat, red blue thing.

JUST IN: The Fraternal Order of Police, the largest police union in the U.S. that endorsed Trump in the last election, has issued a statement condemning his pardon of the violent January 6 rioters. “Crimes against law enforcement are not just attacks on individuals or public safety —they are attacks on society and undermine the rule of law. Allowing those convicted of these crimes to be released early diminishes accountability and devalues the sacrifices made by courageous law enforcement officers and their families. When perpetrators of crimes, especially serious crimes, are not held fully accountable, it sends a dangerous message that the consequences for attacking law enforcement are not severe, potentially emboldening others to commit similar acts of violence.”
