So you aren’t going to mention that it’s heavy sour crude oil and the US is really the only country geared up to refine it? Europe (Netherlands and Spain) have an extremely small capacity for refining heavy sour crude. China would probably be interested and if Canada worked out a deal with China for it than it would drive gas prices down globally because they wouldn’t have to buy from the Middle East since it would mostly be cheaper to buy from Canada than the ME. Essentially they wouldn’t be adding supply to the market and a greater supply (while refining) means oil prices go down. It’s simply an economic substitute and competition creates lower prices. I doubt they will get as rich as this guy thinks as the US is overwhelmingly the largest refiner of heavy sour crude in the world, but than again, I doubt this guy understands the oil industry.
