One of the biggest lies being perpetuated in this country, that the war was fought over slavery. It did not begin that way. It began because people in the north were jealous over the income the South was receiving. These people who are demanding reparations are only seeking more free money.

Slaves were held by about 1.5 percent of the people and it was basically the equivalent of today's illegal migrant worker issue. The South fought for State's rights, NOT slavery, and they lost, which is why we are all under the thumb of the Federal government today.
