@kristyj70 I back the blue, but I really hope this Pastor wins his lawsuit. That’s what’s called a super false arrest. Unreal.

American police aren’t human beings. When tyranny comes for you, it’ll be wearing a badge. Plan accordingly.

Anonymous calls to 911 don’t count as probable cause

Were the cops afraid he was going to spray them with the garden hose? If something strange is going on in our neighborhood we just go and ask questions ourselves before calling the police.

It took THREE judges to rule that the officers wouldn’t be protected by qualified immunity for a pastor watering his neighbor’s flowers….🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

I’ve been telling people for years that cops just can’t arrest you for any one thing, especially out of anger (because you don’t comply with their orders, especially in traffic cases). There must be “reasonable” or “probable” cause (suspicion of criminal activity). What the pastor was doing wasn’t “criminally” suspicious, thus the officers lacked cause to arrest, constituting false arrest and imprisonment. The municipality is to be commended in this case, dismissing charges and removing qualified immunity from the officers allowing them to be sued, I’m assuming under 42 U.S.C. Sec. 1983. Now I have to say that the one thing I’m seeing a lot of by Black Americans is the noncompliance, even just based on voluntary and strategic compliance (as prevention so a remedy won’t be needed) so matters don’t unnecessarily escalate. There’s a very strategic, intelligent, and wise way to interact with police that prevent unnecessary things from occurring. There’s never any reason or need to shout or talk loud to police (which usually denotes one being more emotional than mental or intellectual). Nine times out of ten, if you just act/talk civil, calmly, and respectful and cooperate while reserving and enforcing your constitutional and statutory rights, privileges, and immunities (especially if you know them), you won’t end up arrested and imprisoned (inconvenienced), nine times out of ten. Depending on the state and its laws, the pastor may not be able to sue the Karen who started this whole incident. Calling government is “protected participation” under the First Amendment and thus, offering immunity (Anti-SLAPP). While she lacked probable cause, an element to defeat “Anti-SLAPP”, she didn’t act out of malice (from the video), the second element to defeat the claim. She simply just made a mistake (which she clearly admitted at the end of the video), a mistake that cost the pastor loss of time and money ($500). But hey, s*hit happens, especially in America. And Karens will always exist, unfortunately.
