Hey, I'm "Fractal Texturing" guy. I discovered through experimentation that natural log and exp look better than log2 because it makes the blended texture aperiodic. Also 3 samples seems to be the sweet spot for transition quality and performance

How is this useful? The texture swims as you zoom in and out.

played around with this in shader toy, i think my implementation in floorTex has some banding issues, but i actually kinda like the weird morphing effect i got by sampling noise. really cool :)

yeah I think the issue is the hard pixel edges, it's very easy to see when the squares change size and that appears as bands. Similar to 1:42 in my video
