Back when Sky Sports first started showing England women’s football, Tim Lovejoy on Soccer AM absolutely ripped into it: “Nobody was as surprised as I was last week when I found out that Sky Sports has started showing comedy. But it’s true. Thursday night we showed England’s women’s football team playing a World Cup playoff.” 😂 Then he delivers this absolute killer: “We’ve got the highlights… but if you’re not interested, we’re giving you the opportunity to watch paint dry instead.” 😭 Imagine anything even close to this level of banter today about women’s football, especially on Sky Sports. Not a chance! You can’t even mildly criticise the women’s game without getting piled on. Everyone’s forced to play along and pretend it’s exactly the same as the men’s game. No differences whatsoever. Absolute madness!

⚽️ Come with me and 🦮 Sam to Celtic Park! 🏟️ Yesterday Sam and I were at the Celtic women’s game against Hearts 🎧 I was particularly looking forward to this game as Celtic Football Club had audio descriptive commentary! This is something that is pretty much non existent at women’s games, but it is something that I’m working hard on to get it introduced more widely to the women’s game throughout Scotland and the UK. I am a big fan of the women’s game so well done to Celtic though for leading the way on this! 👏 Finally a massive thank you and shoutout to Katie on commentary who done a brilliant job! She also commentated the men’s game the previous day at Hampden too so massive kudos to you! #CelticFC #SWPL
