Middendorp won us 17 league games that season. In that era 17 league games were enough to win you the league. We failed to win or get a point against Wits... Nurkovic missed a tap in then Wits scored. Against Baroka Khama scored the opener but we failed to defend a set piece and that was the beginning of the end... we've never recovered from that even today.
