The IIHS has released a new video comparing the crash test ratings of the Tesla Cybertruck and Ford F-150 Lightning. The Cybertruck outperformed the F-150 Lightning in the updated moderate overlap front crash test, Rear passenger injury measures (head/neck and thigh), Driver injury measures (leg/foot), Rear passenger restraints and dummy kinematics, and Seat belts & child restraints (LATCH ease of use). IIHS on the F-150 Lightning's updated moderate overlap front crash test: "It received a poor rating. The biggest concerns in the downgrade were that rear seated occupant. What we saw was one, the side curtain airbag got hung up on the b-pillar. We had some high neck tension on that rear dummy, some elevated chest injury measures, and some submarining of the seatbelt, which can cause soft tissue injury in the abdominal region. All of those added up to a Poor rating, which is certainly not something you want to see in a modern vehicle. The Cybertruck was a different story. It performed really well. Good enough to earn a Good rating in this very challenging test." The headlight glare issue on the Cybertruck should be a relatively easy thing to fix.

NEWS: The Tesla Model Y and Model 3 have received Euro NCAP's Best in Class award for safety. “Model Y proved the gold standard for small SUVs, specifically excelling in Child Occupant protection and Safety Assist tests,” Euro NCAP said. "The updated Tesla Model 3 remains a leader in safety. The electric family car achieved high scores across the board and particularly impressed in Child Occupant protection. One killed, one injured in small plane crash near Saratoga County Airport, New York. The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) said that the plane fell into the driveway of a home on Wyndham Way after hitting a tree, but did not strike the house. The 44-year-old driver of the Tesla Model 3 was transported to a local hospital after the incident.
