What is the purpose of putting so much work into a reasonable priced gun that it then costs 3-4 times its retail value before the “upgrades”

Several people called the Aurora Colorado police stating that a man was trying to fight people and attempting to open car doors in a parking lot. Got the new TTI Ballerina Glock 17 Gen 5 from Taran Tactical . Ran a few hundred rounds through it to see which grain works best (for me anyway). Trijicon SRO Sweet 2lb trigger pull Never put a red dot on my pistols and now I want red dots on everything. Thanks, Taran!
