Is this treating turbulence like noise as in like noise cancelling?

What does this do to drag averaged over time?

Is it predicting from weather data or just actively responding to accel data from sensors at the nose?

Directly measures the turbulence with probes (visible on the right wing in the video), predicts their load and generates counter turbulence using the flaps.

@arikaleph in hindsight, using a boom to measure turbulence then using flaps to cancel it out was obvious potential maintenance because of the force on flaps (and limits on flap adjustments) aside, this is an elegant solution

Fascinating! There doesn’t seem be any special devices being used. Are you running special software auto control the flaps, or do the pilots have to learn a special technique?

It’s a software that controls the control surfaces, here the landing flaps
