By saying “They are much smalller in scale” it’s obvious that he’s downplaying them. Everyone who has witnessed all the previous protests - which we Iranians did very carefully - knows that this time it’s different. It’s larger, more strategic, organized and has a leader the ppl on the streets are calling for. . It also has already been decided that the Islamic Terrorist Regime will fall. This is of course scary for all dictator regimes.

I believe these statements are extremely important. Although Mr. Fidan previously served as Turkey’s intelligence chief, but what I take from his words here is that he is trying to convey a message rather than share information. The message is that countries in the region do not agree with the West’s/Isra*l’s plans for Iran because of the chaos they could create. Whether the Iranian regime falls through a popular uprising or a military coup, Iran and the region, especially the Gulf states and Turkey, will face difficult times ahead. Iran’s significant sectarian and ethnic diversity could trigger a wave of migration and displacement. We are talking about a country of roughly 84 million people. Turkey cannot absorb another influx of refugees. And the Gulf states fear an influx of individuals who sought to export the 1979 Shiite revolution, not to mention the potential risks to maritime security and navigation in the Gulf.
