Turkish historiography has a simple rule: everything is Turkish! Here’s Prof. Dr. Reha Oğuz Türkkan demonstrating the logic: Abraham was Sumerian → Sumerians were Turks → therefore, Abraham was a Turk. By the same logic, Moses and Muhammad could be added to the list too. This is the world of Turkish academia, where claiming everything is Turkish apparently earns you a professorship. If a professor makes such arguments, imagine the wider public discourse on history and the way it is taught. Turkey really can feel like a historical universe of its own. #Turkey #TurkishTV #HistoryDebate #Historiography #AncientHistory #Sumerians #Abraham #Moses #Muhammad #MythMaking #Nationalism #IdentityPolitics #MiddleEast #AcademicDebate
