A key achievement is that the average price increase per aircraft in these batches was kept below the inflation rate in the US, which is an important point amid rising defense procurement costs. According to the company itself, the new aircraft will have a hardware configuration fully ready or easily upgradeable to the new Block 4 standard, which includes more than 80 improvements in sensors, radars, and electronic warfare systems. Finalizing this contract ensures production line stability and guarantees that the F-35 program, which already includes more than 1,230 aircraft in 12 countries, will maintain its role as the most numerous fifth-generation fighter.
