I know I joke around or whatever, but this is going to be more of a serious post. I’ve been struggling with sleep apnea for 10+ years now, and I’ve tried everything from melatonin to CPAP machines, and nothing has worked… That was until Aaron Judge gave this speech. Last night was the first time in I don’t even know how long that I’ve been able to sleep through a whole night, and that’s all thanks to “Captain America.”

Respectability politics has never worked for Black people — and it never will with people who don’t respect you to begin with. For years I’ve been told to change my approach. Today I challenge those in leadership to consider that the approach they’ve been using got our s*** stolen. The strategy now has to be to take something back from them — power. I’ve been doing this work for over a decade. Folks didn’t partner with me or support me when I ran because I was considered “radical” — as if demanding equity is radical. It’s time for a different approach. A different posture. One with some fight in it. I’m leaning in regardless — I’m just wondering how many of us are ready now. Share if you care 🦾

School ball is coming to a close, and you start to realize that some of these seniors I’ve played baseball with or against since I was 4 years old. Some of these guys I’ve played T ball with. And in just a few weeks…. It will be over. I won’t see them in the hall next year, I won’t see them in class, they won’t be in the clubhouse next year, they won’t be suited up to play in practice or games. They will be gone. Gone on to bigger and better things- off to different colleges around the country. Some will be playing college ball others will just be starting their next chapter somewhere else. In the end…. It’s been a great ride- proud to be your teammate and friend. Don’t take one moment for granted and on to the next chapter. Love this game. I don’t know why, but I just started thinking… Where will we be in 10 years? Where will Charlotte be? Will we still be here, getting excited over the smallest things, waiting for updates, and making memories together? Or will life get busy and take us in different directions? It’s crazy to think that it’s already been almost 5 years. Five years of laughter, tears, achievements, and so many unforgettable moments. I just hope that 10 years from now, we’ll all look back at these days with a smile and realize that we stayed together 😭🤍

When you are the richest country in the world, maybe you are not the ones who should be tearing down your existing institutions. That’s usually what countries that are lagging behind try to do. But that’s exactly what this president is doing. This won’t show up in next quarter’s GDP. What it will show up as, a decade from now, is companies that were never founded. This is arguably one of my favorite stories. Drew Fortescue made his NHL debut at MSG for #NYR tonight, and he is going to sleep in his childhood bedroom: “I’m going back home. I’ve been staying there — I have a hotel room, but I’ve been going home most of the time. Just gonna be able to hangout with my parents, this is the most I’ve been home and honestly, the practice facility is the closest rink to my house probably. So, pretty lucky and special to be here and being that close to home and being able to stay there is — it’s really special.”
