With Kenneth “Turtle” Johnson, in command of the Santana Blocc who waged war on several piru gangs in Compton. especially, the Lueders Park Pirus along with the Elm Street Pirus, Mob Pirus, and Cross Atlantic Pirus. By the 1980s, the Santanas became a threat to any Blood/Piru/Crip gang who opposed them. In 1989, Kenneth Turtle Johnson, was ambushed and murdered in Lynwood, California. There are a lot of controversy and myths surrounding Turtle untimely death. Fredrick “Baby Gangster” Staves, co-founder of the term “CC Riders” is affiliated with the Santana Blocc Compton Crips. Territory stretches from Rosecrans Ave to Pine Street, between, Alameda Street and Long Beach Blvd. West of the Compton Fashion Center (Compton Swatmeet). Parts of their hood also collide with the Elm Street Pirus neighborhood.
