this looks sick as hell!!!! though i think it'd feel more immersive if the interface disappeared when the object leaves view, just to really sell that it's supposed to be like an AI object recognition software

That would be more accurate, but i think it's a tradeoff with how user friendly the interaction system would be.

maybe you could get/make like a QR code spamming tablet/projector for some temporary id blocking to use that jitter to convey tracking failure

WE LOVE DIEGETIC UI ELEMENTS!!!! some jitter on the jumpscare events would be cool and add a lot I think
