“Rahhhh-ger CLARA Ship…the deck is moving.” Landing Signals Officers, aka “Paddles,” are the heartbeat of a Carrier Air Wing. Sometimes they give you an arguably undeserved bad grade (what do you mean that was a “full high” at the start…I had a rails pass all the way down!). And then they save your life. I met my first squadron off the coast of Japan in Feb 2008. I had a grand total of 22 Super Hornet traps under my belt and was thrust into the big leagues at the tender age of 26. Winter in the Sea of Japan is tough. The cold weather meant we needed to wear impermeable, full-body rubber suits under our flight gear, providing survival time if we had to eject into the frigid water. It also meant the seas were rough and the cloud cover was often low. A perfect mix for a young “nugget” pilot like myself to get himself into trouble when landing. To be blunt, I started as a below average ball flyer. My landing grades were bad. And then I got launched into a marginal weather day in pitching deck conditions. The flight itself was uneventful. But the 75 minutes of flight time was overshadowed by the inevitable need to land back on the ship in what we knew were going to be sporty conditions. The 5 minutes before landing was spent completely in the clouds. We only had one navigation aide available that day due to ships maintenance, so the air traffic controllers talked us down to a point where they handed us off to the LSOs. The controller ended with an abrupt “you’re at three quarters of a mile…on glide slope, on centerline, call the ball.” I couldn’t see the ship. Mustering as much confidence as I could in that terrifying moment, I abruptly pushed over the radio “CLARA ship.” CLARA means you can’t see something. “CLARA ship” means I couldn’t see the ship. And I was 15 seconds to landing, traveling 150 miles per hour, with a 700 foot per minute descent rate. Then the voice of CAG Paddles calmly slid into my ears: “Rahhhh-ger CLARA ship…the deck is moving. You’re a little high, easy with it.” This tested, 32 year old man, standing on the back of the ship, had my landing light in sight, and started smoothly talking me down. He also noted that the carrier deck was pitching up and down…implying he was gonna get me aboard safely. Those surreal moments passed with confident, directive, but calming words pouring into my headset that my hands and eyes instinctively responded to. The hundreds of practice passes learning that guidance made the real thing automatic. Suddenly, the ship appeared and a moment later we jerked to a stop. We had landed. “Nice work 107.” Thanks Paddles. For getting me aboard safely and saving my life. I never disputed a landing grade after that. Fly Navy.

‼️‼️COBB COUNTY, GA‼️‼️ Rocky (21683) is available for adoption… ⬇️ READ HIS STORY ⬇️ Rocky is only 4 years old, hound mix. He arrived at the shelter just two weeks ago, on August 12th. He was found as a stray with an ID, so the shelter reached out to his family. Sadly, they decided not to come for him… 🥺💔 Ever since Rocky arrived, he has been struggling here. He spends his days curled up in his bed, and recently, he stopped eating. The shelter has been trying to get him to eat by adding wet food to his dry food, but he still wasn’t eating.💔 In just two weeks at the shelter, Rocky has lost 7 pounds‼️💔 Today, I was asked to go visit Rocky because he really needed help and visibility. I decided I was also going to try to feed him. I thought maybe if I hand-fed him, he would be willing to eat. Maybe he just needed to feel loved. Maybe he needed someone to sit with him and remind him that he wasn’t alone. So I got a can of wet food and took Rocky into the bonding room. And he ate. ❤️😭🙏🏻 He ate half of the can, and that absolutely made my entire day.💖 Rocky is such a sweet boy, but he is also incredibly sad. You can see how much this environment is affecting him. I took him outside, took him for a walk, spent some time with him, and told him that he was loved. Before I left, I put him back in his kennel, and he went straight back to his bed.💔 I promised him that together, we would find him a family.💖 Please, please help me keep my promise. 💔 The longer Rocky stays in this overcrowded shelter, the harder it is becoming for him... He desperately needs someone to come save his life. Please don’t let Rocky become another dog who loses hope inside a shelter kennel. He was found as a stray with an ID, so the shelter reached out to his family. Sadly, they decided not to come for him… 🥺💔 Ever since Rocky arrived, he has been struggling here. He spends his days curled up in his bed, and recently, he stopped eating. The shelter has been trying to get him to eat by adding wet food to his dry food, but he still wasn’t eating.💔 In just two weeks at the shelter, Rocky has lost 7 pounds‼️💔 Today, I was asked to go visit Rocky because he really needed help and visibility. I decided I was also going to try to feed him. I thought maybe if I hand-fed him, he would be willing to eat. Maybe he just needed to feel loved. Maybe he needed someone to sit with him and remind him that he wasn’t alone. So I got a can of wet food and took Rocky into the bonding room. And he ate. ❤️😭🙏🏻 He ate half of the can, and that absolutely made my entire day.💖 Rocky is such a sweet boy, but he is also incredibly sad. You can see how much this environment is affecting him. I took him outside, took him for a walk, spent some time with him, and told him that he was loved. Before I left, I put him back in his kennel, and he went straight back to his bed.💔 I promised him that together, we would find him a family.💖 Please, please help me keep my promise. 💔 The longer Rocky stays in this overcrowded shelter, the harder it is becoming for him... Day 6: What a glorious morning in the USA. We've only been in this beautiful country for 6 days and we absolutely love it. It's been a long time since I've seen my wife this happy and hopeful. The overwhelming kindness and real concern and care our community extends towards us pushes us upwards and pushes us forward. Today started slow after our meeting with our resettlement agency was rescheduled 1hr later. As updated previously someone from Spangler Restoration did come assess the mold and we're expecting a full clean by tomorrow. Will follow up, but will keep the mold updates separate from now on because it will not get us down or beat us down nor distract us from all the wonderful aspects of our journey. That said we'll give them hell should they stutter or falter. We will also conduct our own testing with a 5 minute mold test and sample kit that will get sent to a lab proudly gifted to us by American patriots who bought it for us in our Amazon wish list. We met with the resettlement agency and they went over information and asked us how we are doing and how the last 5 days have been. They are too keeping an eye on the mold issue and are also waiting for the next update from management. They explained our documentation and informed us again that we entered approved to work immediately. We have work authorization from day 1. However, some employers are too cautious employing illegals and as such people with our documentation face challenges getting employed before and EAD card and SSN card has been issued. We'll have to see them tomorrow again. This if for signing of consent forms apply as proxy for SSN etc. I informed the agency that I've applied with Rides for Refugees who could potentially hook us up with a donated vehicle which would make the world of difference to be able to travel with my son to appointments. There is still a big journey lying ahead for us. More medical assessments and SSA visits etc. My body is aching from the physical labor after doing the fibre trenches yesterday. I can hardly walk. 😂 I overdid It while shadowing with the ride along yesterday. Apparently it takes about 2 weeks to get work fit. If they contract me I will take the offer immediately and I'll start with training after two weeks of digging fibre trenches. I'm coming from journalism and web hosting office jobs into the sun and I'm totally game for it. Anything to start earning dollars and it's an industry I want to get into. So it's win win and I can't be more grateful for this opportunity. Back in South Africa I would've never have had this opportunity. I can't wait to find out if and when I start. War of the Walgreens: A San Francisco Documentary Caught in the crossfire, Asian Americans Grocery Store Employees attacked by violent drugged out thieves as Democrat leaders virtue signal instead of act. Guang Hong, is a 44yo Asian American Walgreens employee in San Francisco and On March 19, 2025, Hong allegedly "stabbed" a violent drug addict thief, 30yo Larry Whitlock, in the eye during a power struggle in the Castro District, a predominantly gay neighborhood in San Francisco's outer downtown area. The incident began when a deranged Whitlock was seen fleeing the Walgreens at 498 Castro Way with stolen goods, democrats like to call it "unpaid merchandise" and other countries like those hands. Around 4:15 AM, A chaotic altercation eventually spilled out onto the street which lead to power struggle between Hong and the thief. Hong was then forced to resort to the only means of self defense at his disposal: his keys, and he then alleged stabbed Whitlock in the eye. Hong was arrested and booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, while Whitlock was hospitalized with non life threatening injuries. This is the thousandth instance of such a situation. A few months later, inspiration still strong, I told pablo erminy who's worked on multiple Netflix shows about it and he said: ‘why dont you just tell YOUR story? You have a great story, people will wanna watch you build in public to fund your artist dream. As a first reality tv production, one story is more than enough to handle.’ Wise man. Maybe i did underestimate how complex a multi-lead, international, real-time, film production would be 😬 Done. because I know great advice when I hear it. PIVOT! 🛋️ So that’s how ’The Crypto Hustle’ was born. This journey I was trying to sell to other founders, I would do it for myself. show not tell. Now the funding. I tried selling the project to sponsors on and off for over a year, between the normal fractl operations, hiring, training, firing, messing up, learning. And only ended up spreading myself so thin, that I neglected the core business. Company became a mess (for others reasons too, that I will come up on the show, hint: boys) Bottom line is, we lost more money than we made, trying to sell a show. I should've known. Film fundraising is a producer’s full time job lol Fast forward 1 year, 2 pilots and a near bankruptcy later, I’m now launching Episode 1 from Korea and just wrapping episode 2 from Hong Kong. And now we're producing a 12 episode documentary about how I'm working my way back to being an artist, with funding. the origin story. when I crashed with the last crypto cycle, back to zero (plus tax) at my grown age, I had to ask myself what the hell I was gonna do with my life. I always just wanted be an artist. With agency. So i worked and paid for everything, studio, music videos, started a record label, all that to keep my artistic freedom, for my entire career. But I hate musicals 😭 why do they start singing in the middle of a conversation?!? whyyyyy A musical for people who don't like musicals??!!! 🥹 That’s it!! A MUSICAL FOR PEOPLE WHO DONT LIKE MUSICALS 🤩 DONE. So from the lowest of my finances, in the middle of career confusion, with a bruised ego from failing so miserably at my first crypto cycle, I found something great to get excited about for the rest of my life. I needed to validate the feasibility… because I know I’m a dreamer who gets shit done, but I’m very much a idealist. so I asked my good friend of mine and the producer of my first 2 albums Benny Adam (now a rising star, this is me clout chasing) for advice. I asked him: ‘is this too much? For me to wanna produce a whole as* Netflix series, music and all?? He’s the most talented, ambitious yet realistic guy I know. Because at that low point in my life, that’s what I needed. Just one person who really knew me, to remind me, despite my circumstances, of who I am and what I’m capable of. I called my friend and mentor Armando Pantoja and asked him what he thought I should go for in terms of job (I needed a break from entrepreneurship). Pioneers Build Up Society Good Example Global Pioneers, how are you doing? Today is Saturday. I feel very good. From yesterday, I started to change my routine. I don’t use my phone as often, because if we always use the phone, we cannot focus on our daily life. From the monk’s teaching about mindfulness, starting from the morning, I began to practice this, and I feel very good. When I wake up, I have more time. I do massage, clean my home—daily cleaning—do laundry, work out, practice yoga and meditation, and I also have time with my daughter. We go outside together. Actually, outside is very cold. The weather is around 20 degrees centigrade right now. It is about 6:20–6:30 in the evening, and you can see it is very beautiful outside. What I want to share with you is that it is very important to manage our daily life and our priorities. Right now, we really need to focus on our current life, not always put all our time on the phone. For me, before, I spent most of my time on the phone. I read a lot of information, I wrote a lot, and I answered many questions in the groups. But now, you may notice I didn’t post much these two days. This is not because I don’t care. It is because I am busy with my daily life and also spending family time with my daughter. And I think this is what we should pay attention for all pioneers as a good family member and society good example. Because for our GCV community and the Pi Network community, we have many pioneers—10 million, 20 million, 30 million, 40 million, 50 million, 60 million, even 70 million right now. Every pioneer has their own daily life. So how should we think about Pi Network and GCV? As I said before, GCV has already succeeded. But right now, what everyone is waiting for is the Pi Network full open success. How can we reach that? Actually, the infrastructure is ready. The technology is ready. GCV is ready. So what is next? Please focus on your daily life and keep yourself healthy and positive. Being healthy, being happy, and having a good relationship with your family is very important. When your family supports you, they support you as a pioneer. And if you do very well as a good example in your family, maybe they will also join as pioneers. This is about to be the most personal and honest advertisement that you have ever seen. For me, 2026 has been a pretty terrible year so far. It started with me breaking my thumb, my wrist and my leg. My leg needed metal plates, multiple screws and the tibia and fibula wired together. Sometime afterwards following the surgery I had a pulmonary embolism, blood clots travelling from my leg up to my lungs. It nearly took my life. This might sound strange but I have never been scared of death because I have always tried to live my life to its fullest. I still have a way to go but I'm getting there, getting stronger and fitter by the day. It wasn't due to my health but I decided to make some good changes too. I stopped drinking, gave up smoking some time ago, barely touch sugar these days, eat a little more healthy than before along with more exercise. I was saving myself from depression. I was feeling good. Things were looking positive. Then after 8 years of working with a company, I got made redundant and lost my job. For most of my adult life I worked for some of the biggest companies in the world doing consultancy work, solving their core issues, managing departments, nuking and recreating processes ensuring they run efficiently. I had a choice. Keep working for companies selling things people don't need. Or do something different. Try to do something that genuinely helps people, that has a real and positive impact on the world, and at the same time work as hard as I have worked through all my life, but this time do it for myself, my family and for a good cause.
