I am Twitch's target demographic. I NEVER heard about twitch until I asked "what is this icon?" on my playstation. I played video games my whole life, I watch anything tech or gaming on TV, and I always consumed and made content. We need NEW views- a working TV app, ads outside

I agree. I have said that I don't think Twitch has done enough to acquire new users.

Makes you wonder if spamming 7-8 ads every 30 minutes of broadcasting time is worth it? Seems like most people leave or find other sources of entertainment

So they add an affiliate program, take 50% sub rev and run tons of ads but aren’t profitable. Where exactly are they at a loss?

It’s been like this for a while. This shouldn’t be news to many people

I just can't understand why they don't try to do the reverse of YouTube. Youtube is the video first, stream 2nd platform, Twitch can be the stream first video 2nd platform. There needs to be ways to both cut/edit stream footage into searchable video form. Let people upload video's and even short form content... have a home page that is much more based off good, algorithmic content recommendations. Then insert ads into all of this new video based content. Also, for the love of god, allow for live pause and rewind in the stream like YouTube, then if you insert ads, people don't care near as much, because they can see whatever it was they would have missed.

Finally. Dear Everyone who’s been yelling that Twitch makes enough to give streamers more. No, they’re not. Revenue does not equal profits. It costs a lot of money to run a live-streaming platform. Yes, we all want more money, but Twitch is LOSING money.

Make subs required going forward or lower their price so people are enticed to subscribe. I don't know. I'm not a business guy to know good strategic decisions to make the company more profitable. I wish the best for Twitch because I don't want to see them fail. Tough problem

People in my age bracket (I'm 35) irl look at me like I've 3 heads when I talk about Twitch or streaming. When it comes to marketing to bring in new users, there almost is none. It's word of mouth. I only knew about it from a discord I was in 4 years ago

Since twitch is vertically integrated within Amazon, what rates are they being charged for data?
