I think you are right that it's a directive from Amazon since all the big tech giants are trying to compete with each other. Unfortunate for the people who have to deal with their shitty AI services. Google won't stop shoving it in my face whenever I open a G Doc.

Using me for training may make the AI unlive itself. And don't get me started with some other Twitchers...

Knowing the sinister side of corp humans. I will not be surprised when Twitch does any "update". That it will auto reset the opt out option. So you will have to manually do it over and over. Twitch will persistence hunt you.

Since streams are usually about games which are copyrighted material, doesn't that by definition means they're training AI on copyrighted material they don't have the right to use, even if you yourself gives consent?

The worst thing is that it doesn’t save when you toggle it off. You have to close the tab to save it. That’s scummy.

Pirate Software’s post exaggerates Twitch’s policy. The update doesn’t state that all creator content is used for generative‑AI training. It refers to ML systems for moderation and platform features, and the opt‑out page doesn’t mention VODs or chat being used for model training.

In a perfect world everyone turns it off... In the 2nd most perfect world only the 'boring' streamers keep it on - and a generation of shitty AI streamers is born

I can understand a company wanting to do this (money ofc) but man, at least be transparent and let everybody know so they have the option to opt out. The people making these decisions would be the first to get angry if they were forced like this to do something they don't want😐

Option must be only visible on PC was just checking for it on my phone with the app and it's not there

I saw you run a test where it's always listening anyways. Do you think playing a low/high frequency background sound that humans cannot hear could confuse or gargle the data collection, making your data useless and or tainting its samples?

My god i feel sorry for the ai lol since most of my streams and videos have slurs in them not to mention a cornish community night with no rules, 18+, anything goes, it goes very dark, very quickly
