Twitch, OBS, and Nvidia are announcing Enhanced Broadcasting, allowing streamers to transmit up to five concurrent streams to Twitch at different resolutions. Beta startups start today and go live later this month. #TwitchNews #TOSgg

Requirements: ▶️ Nvidia GPU (as far back as GeForce 900 series) ▶️ Windows 11 ▶️ OBS Studio Appears to be targeting a max bitrate of 10K. Simulcasting/Restreaming will not work initially. Details:

I highly suspect this is an attempt by Twitch to save money by offloading the transcoding onto the streamer. If so, this will hurt all but the top streamers who can afford the probably insane bandwith and computer specs needed to do this.

So the streamer has to send multiple streams to twitch? We do the transcoding for twitch to make it a "better experience" and they cut costs and make more money? An interesting announcement for sure 🤣

Why? instead of Twtich transcoding, which is expensive, they are going to try to make the streamers do it for them? How many streamers have the PC and internet capacity to play, encode, and broadcast 5 different versions of their stream? Hottub streamers will ❤️ this!

4k60 at fucking 6000 bitrate is nuts

This seems useless for many, only useful for those with beefy 2 pc setups and higher upload internet.

Not obvious to me why @nvidia cards required? Shouldn't you be able to do this if your computer has enough CPU power as well?

As far as I can tell this won’t have an impact on partners who already have all transcodes available at all times. Offloads bandwidth costs from twitch, but allows higher bitrate for those who want to do it on their end.
