“Twitter cannot be a place where fruitful conversations happen, especially about socialism… It is an anti-dialectical space. It leads you to competition, rather than cooperation, because your ego is guiding the process… There are real conflicts, but they cant be resolved here.”

From an old Matt Christman Vlog. I’m as guilty of this as anybody so it is helpful to hear every once in awhile

ah, post-Bernie 2020 Matt on acid, contemplating the dialectic

I miss the Cush vlogs

@shroomsocialist there is no way a succinct point can he made in 500 characters and thats assuming people actually read your post!

Matt the goat

@CantEverDie No, posting all day on twitter is praxis

Some absolute Legend uploaded the Cushvlogs from the pandemic onto Spotify and while it sucks to not have the whole experience.. its super cool to be able to listen to them now while driving

I don't know I think politics happens on Twitter, not very effectively, but it is a resource. I'm not sure bringing "dialectics" and "Twitter" into the same conversation needs to happen, I appreciate Cushbomb's learning though.

Lets listen to these leftovers grasping for relevance in a world that has moved ahead

@CantEverDie So true, well said.

"Anti-dialectical space" is kinda larp sorry.

Wym?

His explanation of shy "left-infighting" (i don't agree with the term) occurs is very infantile. Leftists and communists specially have been fighting each other with even before the universal adoption of the telegraph. "Left-infighting" (critique) is necessary and important.

All leftists but especially communists have made use of this "dunking on someone" format with writing books long before the Internet. And it has been an effective tool of critique and diverting and narrowing the movement towards correct approach. This is not new to social media.

@CantEverDie God dammit the universe is cruel.

@CantEverDie His stroke along with Michael Brooks passing is one of the most devastating incidents to the American left.

Twitter rewards extreme views, too. The algorithm does. And you get more likes with extreme views. So, eventually, you create your own cage. But ultimately, nothing material can be resolved online.

True.
