Another WALK OFF!!! CO Mines led Regis 7-5 going into the bottom of the 9th. Joey Cicini got the rally started with a solo Home Run, bringing Regis within 1. With 1 out, Vinnie LaGatta added another run with an RBI single, tying the game 7-7. Colten Chase then stepped up to the plate with bases loaded and two outs. Let me state up front that these two plays were NOT the reason St. John's lost yesterday. And I am a numbers guy so no need to tell me about our shooting stats in the game. But I need to vent. We knew Arkansas over their prior 8 games was making a concerted effort to get to the free throw line - they averaged 26.5 free throws over this 8 game period. In the 10 games prior to this 8 game period, Arkansas averaged 19.3 free throws attempts per game - right in line with D1 average per game. The coaching staff gave a clear direction to our players prior to the game - wall up with your hands in the air and maintain verticality. Let me state up front that these two plays were NOT the reason St. John's lost yesterday. And I am a numbers guy so no need to tell me about our shooting stats in the game. But I need to vent. We knew Arkansas over their prior 8 games was making a concerted effort to get to the free throw line - they averaged 26.5 free throws over this 8 game period. In the 10 games prior to this 8 game period, Arkansas averaged 19.3 free throws attempts per game - right in line with D1 average per game. The coaching staff gave a clear direction to our players prior to the game - wall up with your hands in the air and maintain verticality. $once a guy on reddit really figured out the Runaway outro lyrics he used reverse engineering, isolated the outro vocals from the instrumental, and visually analyzed the spectrogram to differentiate the words. the outro is absolutely brilliant, the vocals were strategically distorted, with slightly less distortion on the familiar vocals from the first part of the song. if you listen to the outro while following the timestamped lyrics is a very interesting experience. There’s no feeling that can compare to winning a National Championship! 🏆 It’s crazy to think that 45 years ago me and my MSU teammates won a national title. I knew we were up against a 33-0 Indiana State team led by Player of the Year Larry Bird, so I had to make sure I did my part for my team to bring home the trophy. Being awarded Most Valuable Player of the game for my 24 point/ 7 rebound / 5 assist performance and having my teammate Greg Kelser show out with a 19 point / 8 rebound/ 9 assist performance proved two stars was better than one!
