Details/Context: September 2020. Mike Horn and Fred Roux were scaling an iceberg near the North Pole, in the Arctic Circle, when they encountered the life-threatening situation. This near-death experience occurred while Horn and Roux were part of a team sailing around Svalbard, an archipelago situated between mainland Norway and the North Pole. The explorers approached the iceberg in a boat, then began their ascent using ice picks and crampons. However, as their boat moved away, the iceberg started to tilt, tipping them towards the chilling minus two degrees Celsius water. Fortunately, they were swept away by a wave and avoided being crushed by the iceberg. Mike Horn, a professional explorer with 30 years of experience, shared this incident on his YouTube channel, which has been viewed over 4 million times. He emphasized that even professionals can make mistakes and urged viewers to see this as a lesson on what not to do in the Arctic Horn, known for his extraordinary feats like swimming the Amazon River solo and circumnavigating the globe at the equator without motorized transport, humorously remarked that it's safer to see ice cubes in a gin and tonic than falling on your face in the Arctic.

Wow the iceberg is so big.

What do they look for on the iceberg?
