I remember back when Carti first previewed POP OUT, I was in shock by how polarizing this song was. I thought the whole album was gonna sound this high in energy, i really wish we got more songs like this, He could've started a whole new wave with that burnt/industrial trap sound. With that being said, I'm still very grateful we even got a glimpse into that era of Carti. 🐐

🐨:Still, I see us as almost the last line of defense in terms of giving a message. 🐥:Right, right 🐨:and putting something out into the world. We're still one of the last generations that can talk about something. And because there are seven of us I think we can deliver a more pop-oriented and universal message. I actually think "SWIM" itself is a really good pop song but it was tied to the concept of Arirang, and then with our comeback we had so many things to do, so it was hard to give "SWIM" enough weight. Preach!!!!

Back when I was under Convict Music, I looked at Akon like a big brother. Real talk. The respect was crazy. I moved how he moved, listened when he spoke, and believed we was building something solid together. I gave that man my trust, my sound, and some of the biggest records of that era. Then I left. Started my own. And that’s when the mask slipped. I started seeing the numbers. Realizing he was still eating heavy off music we made together long after I was gone… while my end got quiet. Royalties that was supposed to hit just stopped. No explanation. No conversation. Just silence. Like once I wasn’t under his roof no more, the respect wasn’t mutual. I ain’t gon’ lie… that one stung. Not because of the money (I been made peace with the money), but because of what it showed me about loyalty. But here’s the part they never wanted me to say out loud: That still didn’t stop me. That still didn’t break me. That still didn’t hold me back. I went and built anyway. Kept creating. Kept evolving. Kept winning on my own terms.
