Labeling that as “pro-war” distorts the reality of the situation. Orbán’s consistent positioning—blocking EU initiatives, opposing support mechanisms, and emphasizing narratives that divide European unity—raises serious questions about alignment. These actions weaken collective security and, in practice, benefit Moscow’s broader strategic goals. History also offers a clear lesson: countries that tie their future too closely to Russia’s sphere of influence often face economic stagnation, political isolation, and long-term instability. Strong, prosperous states in Europe are those embedded in cooperation, integration, and shared rules—not those drifting toward dependency on a single external power. This is not about being “dragged into war.” It is about recognizing that Europe’s security is interconnected—and undermining that unity carries consequences far beyond national borders.
