The Abuja Metro Rail has been running free to commuters since its relaunch in May 2024, and as of 2026, commuters are still using it without paying a fare. Think about that for a moment. A major public transportation system serving Abuja, connecting parts of the city to the airport, has remained operational and free for commuters for over two years. We can criticize the government where criticism is deserved, but we should also be honest enough to acknowledge things that are working. If it works, say it works. If it fails, say it failed. Accountability should not mean refusing to recognize progress.

I extend my support and solidarity to Telangana BJP State President Shri N Ramchander Rao, who is undertaking a 48-hour hunger strike to fight for the rights of students in Telangana. The Congress government’s refusal to even permit a peaceful, democratic protest at Dharna Chowk is a clear reflection of its authoritarian approach. The Revanth Reddy government is jeopardising the future of nearly 40 lakh students across the state. With around ₹15,000 crore in fee reimbursement dues still pending, students are unable to obtain their certificates and are being deprived of opportunities for higher education and employment. Nearly three years after Congress came to power, its Six Guarantees remain as unfulfilled promises. The ₹5 lakh “Vidya Bharosa Card” promised to students has disappeared without a trace, while the promise of free electric scooters for college-going women students has also been put on the back burner. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi, who travels across the country speaking about student issues, appears unable to hear the cries of students in Congress-ruled Telangana. No permission, no agreement, just free juice to keep their picket signs lit and coffee machines humming. Tesla is dragged through the mud for trying to keep chargers online during your endless sympathy blockades, but when it’s IF Metall’s turn to bend (or break) the rules on electricity and permits? Crickets. This is peak Swedish union logic in 2026: rules for thee, but not for me. If you’re going to moralize about “respecting the Swedish model” and “not creating own networks”, maybe start by paying your own damn electric bill and getting a building permit for that eyesore shack.
