On this Memorial Day we remember those who have given their lives in the service of this nation, and we hold in our hearts the families and loved ones they left behind. For those of us who wore the uniform in combat, this is a day where we remember our friends and comrades who made the ultimate sacrifice. We remember them as they were: sons and daughters, husbands and wives, mothers and fathers. And we rededicate ourselves to living good lives, not to waste the opportunity to live on they gave us with their sacrifice. The willingness of some young Americans to sign the dotted line and risk their futures for the good of the nation is a resource we must jealously guard. It cannot be abused and squandered by those in power for their own benefit. The best way to honor the dead is to make sure future generations are not sacrificed for no reason. Semper Fidelis.

“I have the right to learn.” Children in Gaza are so bright, curious, wise beyond their years. But they have been stifled, learning opportunities taken from them, their educational system destroyed. The children of Gaza represent the future, and no matter how hard the occupation tries to eliminate the future of Palestine, they will not succeed as long as we have fierce, smart, strong, resilient kids who not only want to carry on, but flourish. The education tent at the Refaat Alareer Camp helps foster the spark in these children, giving them the opportunity, time, and skills to succeed in perusing knowledge. We have a teacher for the lower grades, as well as a high school educator, an art teacher that visits the camp, and a music instructor. We allow kids to be kids, to be excited about learning, to give them an escape from the harsh realities around them so they can just be like “normal” children around the world who are in school. The Arabs literally declared that their ultimate goal was not to establish a state but to "push the Jews into the sea". Children in Gaza have endured more than 100 lifetimes worth of suffering and pain. Losing family, friends, their home, school, as well as the simple things that make a childhood - their toys, comfort, favorite foods and treats. How can they even smile? Nearly 100% of children in Gaza need mental health support due to their experienced and ongoing trauma. But they are also strong, and loved, and cared for by their parents, extended family, neighbors, and friends. But this war on them, on their lives, on their futures must stop now. Our South team came across this group of children singing a traditional Palestinian kids song, smiling, clapping, trying to pass the time, trying to find any joy between the displacements, bombings, and hunger they feel. Once the slaughter is over, and it has to be over, there is an expectation that Palestinians should move on regardless of the lives lost, of the limbs lost, of the loved ones lost. There is an expectation that parents will walk the earth with the shadow of their killed children and do nothing about it. The children who are orphaned will hold onto the memory of their parents but not to the anger over how they were killed. There is an expectation that a nation will be able to move on from the reality of parents carrying their children’s remains in plastic bags, of families buried under the rubble or in the sand they found shelter in after everything else was destroyed. That we will be able to move on as a nation from the images of burning children, of starving infants, of the impact that bombs left behind, on the lives of many Palestinians, on their scarred bodies, in their hearts and minds, of the impact that a single bullet lodged in the child’s head or heart has over an entire family forever. We said long ago, we made a choice, to seek justice not vengeance, but we cannot be prevented from seeking either. We cannot continue to be denied our right to life, to liberty, to dignity. We cannot be denied recourse and reparation. No one has a rightful claim to supremacy, to exceptionalism, to domination, to oppression, no one.

On the day that marks the end of a month of sacrifice, it was fitting that we joined those who sacrifice to keep us safe at the COAS Sallah Luncheon for Troops in the Field of 2 Division Area of Responsibility in Igbeti, Olorunsogo LGA. As I said in my remarks, their welfare is our shared responsibility and we will continue to do all we can to support them to carry out their duties. May their sacrifices never be in vain and may Nigeria continue to find peace through their service to the nation.

Oz: Secretary Kennedy strongly believes we need gold standard science. We need that science to be able to help families make better decisions for themselves and state governments because these are state driven issues usually, especially mandates to make those decisions more wisely. If you can do this in the right way, we very empowering because who loves children the most? Their parents, no matter what we might say, they're the ones who need to have the information. They should have the ability to make the wisest choices for their kids, not based on fear, but based in science

CALLING ALL FANDOMS/ Lovers of Girl groups Please vote for Dreamcatcher on Idol Champ! As y'all know we're the biggest Insomnias around. We love Dreamcatcher, they're the reason why we got back into K-pop as hard as we did and really the reason why we started to take reacting seriously. These girls have truly outstanding songs, vocals, choreo, visuals and yet they only have 4 wins, which genuinely should be a crime. This is probably their only chance of winning during this comeback period. These girls resigned their contract and have been working their as*es off for 7+ years in a small company. They HAVEN'T given up. They keep dreaming and pursuing their passion. Dreamcatcher is the group that every small company group probably looks up to. Because Dreamcatcher is still fighting. And they are putting out PHENOMENAL music. (Justice is an amazing song and you all should check it out if you haven’t.) Please let's show them that their hard work is paying off. This is a call to any fan/fandom that loves their group and wants them to keep promoting after that 7 year curse. Show your favorite group that it’s possible to keep going even if there’s hurdles, even if they're struggling, even if they’re not the biggest group. Over 1,000 children in Gaza have been martyred by Israel in the past week. IN ONE WEEK, ONE THOUSAND CHILDREN WERE MURDERED. We see children coming to our water trucks daily, trying to help their families, and to think these same babies are being taken from their parents, from their siblings, in the most violent and savage way, en mass, is incomprehensible. We see massacres in broad daylight as these children ride their bikes and move about in open squares all across the North and the world is silent. Translating Falasteen (Translating Falasteen (Palestine)) x The Sameer Project will keep serving these children, keep supporting them, to give them any chance at survival and life. We continue to bring them water, as much and as close to where they live for this reason: it is dangerous to be a child in Gaza, targeted because you are simply the next generation of Palestinians.
