Around 10:30 Thursday night, the FDNY responded to a 5-alarm fire at 855 Prospect Avenue in the Bronx. Around 200 firefighters and EMS personnel responded. There were no serious injuries. “Units arrived in less than four minutes. We found fire at a commercial establishment and it was extending to the adjacent stores. We also had fire on the roof of the six-story multiple dwelling and fire extended to the second floor. Those were quickly contained. The multiple dwelling was entirely evacuated, said Assistant Chief Kevin Brennan. FDNY Fire Marshals are working to determine the cause of the fire.

UPDATE: CA Fires Real Estate Developer states there is NO WATER Coming out of the Palisades - The Fire Hydrants have No Water “What is most concerning to me is our first responders and firefighters who are trying to battle this, there’s no water in the Palisades. There is NO WATER coming out of the fire hydrants. This is an absolute [intentional] mismanagement by the city. We’ve got a mayor out of the country… and we got a city that’s burning, and there’s no resources to put out the fires. You don’t see the fire fighters there because there’s nothing they can do…” This is a nightmare…

Late Saturday morning, the FDNY responded to a 5-alarm fire at 1740 East Tremont Avenue in the Bronx. The fire originated in a one-story auto body shop and extended to two nearby dwellings. Four Firefighters sustained minor injuries, and approximately sixteen residents were displaced. “When our units arrived, we had heavy fire throughout the motor vehicle repair shop. We attempted to enter and extinguish the fire, but there was a significant amount of fire and concerns about structural stability. We did have a collapse in the rear of the building, but our members were able to identify the danger and exit safely before it occurred,” said Chief of Department John Esposito. The fire was placed under control and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
