Nice line, but chips and data centres need huge amounts of power. With UK industrial electricity prices this high and the grid already jammed, where’s all that energy meant to come from?

Are you still going to do a good deal with the fabulous people of Bengaluru, India? I hope you don't let them down after building their hopes up Kanishka

Shouldn’t we be building a British model for government use? This chip thing seems a bit silly considering they have to be made abroad

Another video……boss tell you this is the way forward hey? How many ‘consultants’ advised you it was ‘more personable’ if you roll your sleeves up as you deliver the performance? Can’t believe the media comics we now have

ooh look another tiktok telling us absolutely nothing on a subject you know nothing about or will ever deliver. Having ran businesses in UK industry for the last 40 years I know just how difficult it is to find the skills & experience required for high tech industries.

How about some cheaper electricity prices? You can have all the compute in the world and it is useless if you can’t afford to run it.

We could have so much more than chips in AI if we had an energy policy which provided cheap and reliable electricity to industry rather the most expensive. It is at the root of our problems. You are clearly one of the smarter members of this new Cabinet - is this ever discussed?

1.1B dwarfed by the hundreds of billions US and China spending. Hell even the EU.

UK - £150 million Germany - £17 billion United States - £39 billion Japan - £48 billion South Korea - £350 billion This is not serious funding, you have no intention of providing any real sovereign manufacturing capacity. This is government by social media video.

Two weeks in?? It’s been two years. No matter how much you lie, we won’t let you erase these past two years we’ve had. Remember who helped you get in government. Twats

I don't think we want AI. I think we want: Clean water. A funded NHS. Houses. An end to genocide. You are there for the rich.

Chips are the easy part. Running them is the problem. When I ran the numbers on compute unit economics, UK industrial electricity was roughly five times what competitors pay. That's what determines whether any of this scales.

Thank you so much for your hard work. Is it possible if you could make things eaiser for Google to release the AI features in the UK faster as they take a long time to arrive. Same for other companies

We don't have the power to support AI and data centres. Labour are simply bullshitting us.

Why does he use poker chips? Because he can't get hold of real ones? And/or thinks it's all a gamble. If this is serious, what about the Education Secretary, who thinks maths is a relic? All these pathetic videos, but no coherence, or sense!
