What we see in the O'Neills U20 Hurling Championship is great games like last night in front of 20,000 people. What we don’t see is leaving cert and early year college students, lads new to work and jobs, coming together in October/November to compete for a place on the panel. Early morning training sessions, late evening training sessions, gym sessions, Christmas holidays are Christmas training days for these young players, there is something almost every day and it has to be worked around Classes, Lectures, Jobs, Study, Exams, Family and at no stage is there any guarantees, no guarantee of getting on the panel, if you do… it’s brilliant and comes with no guarantee of getting on the team and then it’s into a competition against the similar great young players, the best from their county, where the “no guarantees” get bigger and this uncertainty is met by each player with selfless commitment, work, effort, sacrifice. How incredible are these young players? That’s what I keep asking myself, I am in awe of them. I can say I was never prouder to be a Dub than last night. Fact is, I am in awe of all the players I have met through U20 Season 2024. and Very best wishes to Official Offaly GAA for the next game.

Lots of talk about Franklin Arias being called up this year. My take on the matter is…don’t. With the lockout looming, and baseball maybe not being played, you have to think about his development. During a lockout, players not on the 40 man roster may report to minor league camp. If Arias is not added to the 40 man, he will have access to the team facilities.

These replies are why we fucking hate premier league fans, if you want to be treated like cattle by your clubs, fine. Don't judge us for owning our sport. This isn't just some random ultra, this is the 'leader' of all of SVDs fans. He's not berating them, he's motivating them, reminding them of the club situation, getting some fire into them. After a 6-0 bashing at home, they're not leaving mid game (like you guys always fucking do!), they've stayed, talked with the players, and next week they'll all be there for the away game supporting for a full 90 minutes again, so their club survives. "He should be kicked out immediately!" - no he fucking shouldn't, he's the voice of the fans, something you guys have let them take away from you. The players were asked what he said and if he berated them and they said no, he didn't, it was fair words and motivation. Again: -We own our clubs -We do NOT want to become the Premier League -If the choice is between irrelevancy (from outside Germany) and international fame/trophies, we will ALWAYS pick the first option. This is our league. Not Saudi Arabias League, not Todd Boehlys League, not some Sheiks League This is why we protested against the investor deal for weeks with tennis balls (and more), AND WON. This is why we will never accept 'clubs' like RB Leipzig. This is why this man is on the pitch talking to the players. We will do all we can to keep it this way. You get 1 spring Little League season per year. You can play tournaments every weekend. Missing your rec league games to play in a travel ball tournament is not legit. It's also not safe from an arm care perspective. The travel ball player is probably a top Little League player, so it really hurts the team. Dont put your child that situation. And dont do that to the team. It puts the Little League head coach in an awful position. What are they supposed to tell the team? "Oh yea, little Bobby is playing on his travel team this weekend instead of with us..." And then that travel ball player is expected to just be slotted back into the lineup? That's not right. I bet if the LL coach sits the player for skipping out on the team, those parents complain. In fact, I literally just had this happen with a good friend... which prompted this reflection. Play Little League or Travel Ball. And if you do both, prioritize the rec league with the team who has worked together for months with the goal of playing meaningful baseball at the end of the season. Show up for the volunteer coach who probably selected you as one of their top picks to carry and lead the team. And just wait a few more weeks and play in as many weekend tournaments as your heart desires. ⚾💪🔥 #baseball #travelball #littleleague #youthbaseball

We all know that almost every championship team is composed of great players. But the media only penalizes Kobe for playing with great players. Magic and Kareem are two TOP 5 players all time, yet they don’t catch slack for playing with eachother. Shaq is a Top 10 player all time, yet catches NO slack for playing with Kobe who in 2001 and 2002 especially, was the best perimeter player in the league and the 1-3 best player in the league PERIOD. And he was a great defender. Lebron played with 2 franchise superstar/star players as 2nd and 3rd options TWICE. First with Wade/Bosh then with Kyrie/Love. And the media is silent on it. Truly there’s a bias. There’s an agenda. It’s sad to see Kobe gave the game nothing but his heart and the media has rewarded him with nothing but pissing on his legacy.

We took ourselves along to the Clare GAA Centre of Excellence in Caherlohan on Monday night last to have a look in on night four of the 2026 Development Squad pre-trials . Over 180 budding Banner stars from across the county have been grouped into teams with brilliant club coaches over the past month playing small sided games with rules amended so each player can work on the speed of their hurling and get more touches . A fantastic schedule of games and only the start of an exciting journey for each and every one of them . Well done to all .

Why on earth would we use this summer to pack the squad out with journeyman league one players? F that!! We want to go up so we only need to add a handful of players to be able to go again next season. Stop using Wrexham as a comparison to us, they did exactly what we have done this season when they were in the national league. Jobi FYI we ain’t a league one team we’re a team in league one, we haven’t been in this league for 30 years and with this summers transfer activity we won’t ever be in league one ever again (no disrespect to league one) This summer was the owners first chance to flex their muscles and show their commitment to the club. We don’t want to be in this league we want to go up, you buy a squad of league one players if you wanna be stable and maybe fluke promotion via the play offs, if that happens…guess what we have to do again next season….rebuild We lost one way or another 17 players this summer, we needed to rebuild this season, we have been skating on thin ice because of our yellow sticker transfer activity for the best part of 7 years. Why on earth would we use this summer to pack the squad out with journeyman league one players? F that!! We want to go up so we only need to add a handful of players to be able to go again next season. Stop using Wrexham as a comparison to us, they did exactly what we have done this season when they were in the national league. Jobi FYI we ain’t a league one team we’re a team in league one, we haven’t been in this league for 30 years and with this summers transfer activity we won’t ever be in league one ever again (no disrespect to league one) This summer was the owners first chance to flex their muscles and show their commitment to the club. Do you really think we would have gone down if they were allowed to spend this money last season….no way In short, F-ing research before spouting crap because you sound proper daft #KRO // #BCFC
