Uber driver pay is broken. Or is it? I showed an Uber exec a $9.07 offer that worked out to about $9.72/hour after my vehicle costs. She asked me, “Did you take it?” I said no. “Then what’s the problem?” That question sent me down a rabbit hole on...

I do a lot of analysis too and this was from yesterday for 63 trips of offers only. I didn't take any of them. I also did a pay comparison but I compared to our previous rate card. I may have to look at BC...

I love data! Love it Earla! ❤️ It's a shame that our pay has been cut. 😔

I want riders to have the option to pay more for 5-star drivers. Is that a thing yet?

I made $780 last week in 16.5 hours delivering. The $10 per trip on 45 trip quest made it worthwhile. However, once I hit my 45th trip and the quest was finished, so was I.

Driver pay isn’t broken. This was always the plan. Drive the completion out of business. Build an excess supply of desperate drivers. Cut Driver Pay over and over. Increase profits. It’s working exactly how they want it to work.

We’ve gotta stop blaming ourselves for their exploitative business practices. Many drivers are faced with a “this or nothing” situation & the apps know it.

I don't blame myself or drivers. Uber, Lyft, and all the other gig apps are responsible. My objective is to be honest about the situation and help drivers to live above the algorithm.

So a @Uber executive said "what's the problem". They know they have immigrants who take all that low crap becasue they gain more in government assistance with a 0 taxable income. Pushing wages down for Americans. I would of for real choked that person.

@Uber If two people asked you to do a job, you'd pay the one asking $20 instead of the one asking $10?

@Uber So its ok to lower American citizens pay, because immigrants are asking for less so they can collect Ebt, section 8, healthcare from the American taxpayer? Also the immigrants are making housing and other items cost more. So companies helping immigrants are hurting Americans.

@Uber I didn't say it was ok. I'm saying that's the reality.

@Uber Here is the real question. When @Uber goes fully Avs and hundreds of thousands of immigrants lose their jobs and government assistance without any skills or the ability to speak english what's going to happen? Same thing as it always do. Violent crimes will raise another 2008.

Biggest issue with gig work door dash, uber ,etc is they lowball because they know smart drivers will decline but there is always gonna be someone uneducated or didn’t think through the expense costs of the trip and take it.

This was another great piece, you’re like 65-70% of the way to enlightenment! Come do your show in a golf cart in Southern California this winter & I bet I can get you to 85%! I’m definitely watching deeper into episodes w/your recent shift towards understanding both sides.
