I kept finding little stories, hidden locations and reasons to get distracted. ✅ The new story content fits surprisingly well, and the endgame chapter feels like a real epilogue. ✅ The Caribbean feels more alive, more dynamic, and more rewarding to explore. ✅ Plenty of smart QoL additions that I hope become series standards. 🟡 Mixed: ⚠️ Parkour is still one of the best in modern Assassin's Creed... but compared to the original Black Flag, it doesn't flow as well. ⚠️ Combat has more depth, but I still miss the freedom, animation variety, and classic mechanics from the original. 🔴 Didn't like: ❌ No Mission Replay or New Game+ ❌ Simplified tailing missions. ❌ Camera cuts during double assassinations. ❌ Some animation and presentation downgrades. 🏴‍☠️ Final verdict: Ubisoft respected one of its greatest games, even if it didn't always understand every little detail that made the original so special. 🟢 If you've never played Black Flag, this is absolutely the version I'd recommend. 🟡 If you're a longtime fan, it's a little more complicated. Some things were genuinely better in 2013, but the amount of meaningful new content and improvements made me want to keep playing this version instead. It doesn't replace the original in every way. ⚓ But it absolutely justifies bringing Black Flag back.
