UFC Hall of Fame: Fight Wing - Futures 🔮 10 fights I think should be in the UFC HoF THREAD 🧵

Intermission: Established in 2003, the UFC Hall of Fame celebrates the most influential figures in the history of mixed martial arts. From the pioneers and innovators to the modern era greats whose impact was felt in and out of the Octagon, the hall recognizes those who have played a pivotal role in building the fastest growing sport in the world. Separated into four distinct wings that allow recognition for the greatest fighters from the pioneer and modern eras, contributors, and the most memorable fights.. my personal favourite. Of all the hall of fame worthy bouts the UFC have put on I find it hard to imagine they can’t come up with more than 9, so here’s 10 fights in no particular order I think should be in the UFC Hall of Fame: Fight-Wing, Enjoy! 🙏

UFC 195: Lawler vs. Condit January 2nd, 2016 Robbie Lawler vs. Carlos Condit This fight deserves to be in the hall of fame just as much, if not more than Lawler vs MacDonald 2. In my opinion Condit won rounds 1, 3, & 4. Lawler won 2 & 5. Although that was an amazing effort in the 5th by Lawler! Awarded ‘MMA’s Best Fight of the Year 2016’ by Tapology.

UFC 248: Adesanya vs. Romero March 7th, 2020 Zhang Weili vs. Joanna Jędrzejczyk 1 Zhang Weili and Joanna Jędrzejczyk delivered the greatest fight in women’s MMA history! I guarantee this fight will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame one-day, it should be the first women’s fight to be inducted into the fight-wing of the hall of fame, and likely will be! UFC Fight of the Year Winner 2020.

UFC 125: Resolution January 1st, 2011 Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard 2 I’m honestly shocked this fight hasn’t already been inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame hall. Frankie is apart of the ‘Class of 2024’ hall of fame inductees so I do foresee this fight being inducted also in the years to come. IMO Maynard deserves the recognition.

UFC 300: Pereira vs. Hill April 13th, 2024 Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway The BMF title is not a real championship, but Max Holloway did the gimmick proud! This fight encapsulates everything Dana White preaches he wants out of his fighters, for that reason and many more I can imagine this bout will be in the UFC HoF as soon as it’s eligible.

@MmaWeili @joannamma @FrankieEdgar @GrayMaynard UFC 236: Holloway vs. Poirier 2 April 13th, 2019 Israel Adesanya vs. Kelvin Gastelum A classic back-and-forth battle between two rising contenders, the cream rises to the top, Adesanya’s efforts in the 5th round were remarkable! UFC Fight of the Year Winner 2019.

UFC 268: Usman vs. Covington 2 November 6th, 2021 Justin Gaethje vs. Michael Chandler The only 3 round fight on this list. The pace at which these men went to war was insane to watch live! The back and forth affair looked certain to end in a devastating finish, and given two more rounds it almost certainly would have! You just cannot keep up that sort of pace without someone falling. Truly some modern-day gladiator type sh*t. UFC Fight of the Year Winner 2021.

UFC 192: Cormier vs. Gustafsson January 3rd, 2015 Daniel Cormier vs. Alexander Gustafsson Daniel Cormier took a huge step toward legitimizing his reign as the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion with a split-decision win over Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 192. As big of a win as this was for Cormier, it's equally devastating for Gustafsson, regardless this is certainly a hall of fame worthy performance from Gustafsson, and Cormier alike.

@MmaWeili @joannamma @FrankieEdgar @GrayMaynard @stylebender @MikeChandlerMMA @dc_mma UFC 267: Blachowicz vs. Teixeira October 30th, 2021 Petr Yan vs. Cory Sandhagen An epic chess-battle for the Interim Bantamweight Championship. The foot work, technique, speed, power and pure ferocity on display was outstanding. A pure strikers delight matchup!

UFC 275: Teixeira vs. Prochazka June 11th, 2022 Glover Teixeira vs. Jiři Procházka A matchup of complete madness and mayhem, this fight had everything! Back-and-forth, lot’s of damage, striking, grappling and a crazy comeback submission victory in the final seconds of the bout, remarkable! UFC Fight of the Year Winner 2022.

In Conclusion: The UFC Hall of Fame is the first stop for those who want to learn and celebrate everything about the DNA of the UFC and mixed martial arts. Every sports fan knows what a hall of fame is, so having more fighters and fights announced as ‘Hall of Fame’ only helps the recognition of the sport. To only induct one fight a year since 2018, and even less before that, seems disadvantageous to the sport. I think we should show more love to the fighters, and not just for their individual accolades but performances. Take Cub Swanson vs Doo Ho Choi for example, Cubs a legend of the game so to see him awarded the honour would’ve been amazing regardless, Choi on the other-hand just went to war and took years off his career at a young age, he was never the same after this and before hand he was a promising prospect, so in a way it’s nice to see him honoured too, it’s not that he is a hall of fame fighter, but on that night he was apart of a hall of fame fight, for that he deserves to be remembered in the annuals of UFC history, along with a lot more forgotten-fighters!!
