UI3 comes with a new Figma desktop app for MacOS and Windows. We really sweated the details with this one, so here's a few of my favourite features! First up is the most visible change – the Mac style translucent tab bar.

This will forever change how power users switch apps on MacOS MacOS is full of animations. Switching to an app means repeatedly using cmd + tab or using power tools to assign a hotkey to the app. Even if you are using the hyperkey on Raycast to open apps, you will still be faced with the animations if the app is on different desktop. I've completely solved this pain point in the latest release of SuperCmd Here's what's done 1. Completely eliminated the animation, the hotkey will instantly switch to the instance of that app, even if it's on a different desktop 2. If there are multiple instances of the same app, e.g., 4 cursor projects, it will cycle through all the open windows of that app. (even VSCode / cursor supports cycling through windows only on the current desktop) I've long wanted to solve this issue for myself, and it has been the biggest bottleneck in my productivity. I see this as a huge win for power users, specially ADHD bois! SuperCmd 1.0.7 is out, but I wanted to dedicate a post to this specific feature first. Starting with iOS 27, we can actually convert a tab bar to a sidebar. A new modifier was introduced to do this. “.defaultTabBarPlacement(.sidebar)” As of current testing, this seems to work on iPhones as well when the app is in landscape mode. This is the same behavior used in the iPhone Health app, where the tab bar converts into a sidebar in landscape mode!

The Figma glass teaser and launch videos were made entirely with a series of screen recordings using with CleanShot for mac. For the teaser, I took the UI component, masked it and just resized and moved the mask around the screen in tandem with the glass frame. Noah Levin suggested we tease the light direction icon. It took a few tries to get just right, and in one take. 😅

Inspired by the Telegram’s iOS 26 Animated Tab Bar ✌️ I just traversed through the tab bar to find the associated Image views and simply added SF Symbol Effects to them, and it just works perfectly fine. NOTE: This is a native tab view with a tab bar.
