But who is Britain fighting a war against? "China represented a 'sophisticated and persistent challenge' which had missiles that could reach the UK and Europe," said a summary of the document in the Times of London this morning. "Russia is an immediate and pressing threat…" There will have be "some really quite chunky tax increases" to pay for it all, said Paul Johnson, head of the Institute for Fiscal Studies. Former foreign secretary Jack Straw said the country's social welfare budget would have to be cut. The issue (which the UK media omits to mention) is that China has not the slightest interest in war with the UK, and Russia is rather busy at the time with a different war. What we are really seeing is a WHOLE NATION gaslighted by its own media in real time. It's absolutely fascinating.
