In this context Boris Johnson was agreeing with you. And you are correct. This is not a game, it is serious as you state, non-existence and extreme pain and loss with that loss of identity. Loss of Soverignty Loss of resources Loss of Lane Loss of the Rule of Law Loss of Freedom Loss of a path to economic freedom for our people. They just put Pavel Durov on an international wanted list facing life in prison for refusing to hand the State the encryption keys to every private message on Telegram. Certainly not the first attempt. What’s new this time is the “facilitating terrorism” charge. Give the State control over what people say or become a wanted man. And the truly unfortunate aspect of this whole thing is there really is no meaningful distinction between Russia and France or the EU on this. They both treat uncensored speech as a threat that must be controlled, both punish the platforms that refuse, and both use whatever legal language is convenient that year. If protecting private conversation is now a crime on both sides of the old East-West line, the free internet is already gone.
