@SecDef Ukraine needs to be able to defend itself as it sees fit. What sort of rule is it that does not allow an invaded country to fight back the invader in its own country. Ridiculous. Thank God this admin was not in power during WWII. Timidity is shameful.

This week saw the #EUCO decision to open Ukraine’s EU accession talks. We worked actively for it all year. In the coming days, Ukraine and the European Commission will formally begin the screening process to assess the correspondence of Ukrainian legislation with EU legislation. We are also preparing for the work on Ukraine’s negotiation framework, which we expect to be adopted in the spring. The negotiation process will not be easy, but the important thing is that we already have historical certainty: Ukraine will always be part of our common European home.
