CODE 9.2 has carried out its third successful aerial evacuation by drone. This time, the CASEVAC StarGate drone flew more than 15 km one way to rescue Ukrainian Defender Andrii, call sign "Donbas," just 2 km from the Russian border. Ground evacuation was impossible due to difficult terrain, minefields, and constant Russian FPV drone attacks. Andrii spent 57 days at his position after being wounded by a mine explosion. He is now receiving medical treatment. In just a week and a half, this technology has helped save the lives of three severely wounded Ukrainian Defenders.

⛑️Ukraine has now carried out at least three known aerial evacuations of wounded soldiers from the battlefield using heavy drones. In two new cases reported by SkyFall, Ukraine’s 475th Separate Assault Regiment CODE 9.2 evacuated two severely wounded soldiers using StarGate drones. During one mission, the drone flew nearly 60 km round-trip despite Russian GPS jamming, relying on AI-assisted navigation. Vampire heavy drones provided cover. Both soldiers were rescued from the gray zone, approximately 5 km from the Russian border, where ground evacuation was impossible. Together with an earlier aerial CASEVAC using a Gurzuf Defence drone, this brings the number of publicly known cases to three.

Two drone evacuations in one week: CODE 9.2 fighters rescue wounded Defenders from the battlefield using StarGate UAVs. The 129th Brigade contacted CODE 9.2 for help evacuating wounded Defenders. Due to difficult terrain and the threat of FPV drones, reaching them by land was impossible. The only option was an aerial route. Over the course of a week, CODE 9.2 planned and successfully carried out two evacuation missions. During one of them, a StarGate UAV travelled nearly 30 km to reach a wounded Warrior’s position and covered the same distance on the return flight, with the Warrior on board. The drone was manufactured by SkyFall, and its development took a year. During the mission, Russian forces attempted to jam satellite navigation signals using electronic warfare systems. However, thanks to its AI-based navigation system and the pilots’ expertise, the drone continued its mission. Among those rescued were 25-year-old Yevhen, callsign “Izium,” and 24-year-old Artem, callsign “Kolobok.” Oleksandr Nastenko, callsign “Flint,” commander of the 475th Separate Assault Regiment “CODE 9.2,” stressed that the priority now is to scale up this experience and make such missions standard practice. 📹️️️️️️: CODE 9.2

Ukrainian troops evacuate wounded soldiers from the battlefield twice using a StarGate drone Soldiers from the CODE 9.2 unit helped the 129th Brigade evacuate wounded troops who could not be reached by land due to difficult terrain and the threat of FPV drones. Over the course of a week, the military carried out two successful missions using the StarGate UAV manufactured by SkyFall. During one operation, the drone flew nearly 30 km to the wounded soldier’s position and the same distance back with the soldier on board. Despite the enemy’s attempts to jam satellite navigation using electronic warfare systems, StarGate continued its flight thanks to its AI-based navigation system and the pilots’ work. The unit’s commander said the priority now is to scale up this experience and make such evacuations a regular practice.

🇺🇦 A world first: Ukrainian forces evacuate a wounded soldier from the front line using an aerial drone The unprecedented operation was carried out by troops from Ukraine’s 92nd Separate Assault Brigade together with other Ukrainian military units. A wounded soldier from the 30th Mechanized Brigade was stranded at a position where evacuation by ground vehicles was impossible due to minefields and constant Russian drone activity. Ukrainian troops deployed a heavy six-rotor Gurzuf Defence drone, specially adapted to transport people. The drone lifted the wounded soldier into the air and carried him to safety. The soldier was rescued and is now recovering from his injuries. According to the 92nd Brigade, this was the first operation of its kind in the world to evacuate a wounded soldier directly from the battlefield using an aerial drone.

⛑️‼️BREAKING: Ukraine has carried out the first frontline CASEVAC mission using a heavy-lift aerial drone. A wounded soldier of the 30th Mechanized Brigade was trapped at his position, with Russian drone activity and minefields making ground evacuation impossible. It was effectively a choice between attempting a highly dangerous and untested aerial evacuation or leaving the wounded with no viable way to rescue him. A Ukrainian-made Gurzuf Defence heavy hexacopter, specially modified for casualty evacuation, successfully airlifted him to safety. The operation was conducted through cooperation between Ukraine’s 92nd Assault Brigade, 30th and 14th Mechanized Brigades, 10th Army Corps. The soldier is now recovering from his injuries.

Ukraine's 475th Separate Assault Regiment CODE 9.2 evacuated two severely wounded soldiers over the past week using the Ukrainian-made StarGate aerial casevac drone. Ground evacuation was impossible because of terrain, water obstacles and Russian FPV threats. In one mission, StarGate flew nearly 30 km to the casualty and roughly the same distance back, while AI-based navigation kept it flying despite Russian EW suppressing satellite navigation. #Ukraine

For the first time ever, a Ukrainian aerial drone has carried a wounded soldier off the front line in the war with Russia and flown him to safety after nearly 500 days. The soldier, Konstantyn Vlasenko, had both legs amputated after being injured in a Russian drone attack on February 14. Ukraine’s military says the drone flew nearly 40 miles for over an hour to bring him home. Ramy Inocencio has more on the operation that involved a decoy drone to distract Russian forces.
